Blog Overhaul.

So, Tanya suggested I make a fun marine biology blog, so here it is. I've had this blog since sophomore year, and I was going to erase all the really stupid posts about like top ramen and itchy legs, but I decided those were funny and that I'd keep them just for the hell of it. Anyways, I'm getting ready to move out of the sorority house since I am heading to Tahiti next quarter!!!! We are going to be having four weeks of intensive class and research (8am to 5pm!), but it will all be worth it when we are on the plane to Moorea! There I will be working with other students and conducting independent research projects! I'm mostly excited to go scuba diving there again, because when I was 16 and went for vacation, it was so amazing. Also, I decided that I am going to go get a tattoo with a couple of other girls right at the end of the trip. There is this really cool guy on the island of Moorea who does traditional Tahitian tattoos. Apparently he's really legit because you tell him your life story and then he designs something based on your life and what you like, etc. I just think it will be a really cool way to commemorate college and our trip there. My only dilemma is that I don't know where I want to get it, since I want it to be seen sometimes (otherwise whats the point of even having a tattoo) but I also want to be able to cover it up for real life and stuff. Also, I'm excited because I already have a ton of friends going since I have been taking a scientific scuba diver course this quarter. We spent a weekend on Catalina a few weeks ago, and it was just like a precursor to Tahiti and got us all super excited to go. On another note, I am just searching endless for some sort of marine biology job. I keep hitting a lot of walls though because almost every job requires some number of years of hands on experience either with animals, aquarium systems, etc. So I've pretty much come to the realization I'm just going to have to have some sort of internship or volunteer position and just work like a regular job while I build my resume. I planned on not going back to grad school for a few years, but now I'm not sure, and sometimes I regret my decision to not go straight after graduation. But I know everything will all work out in the end. Anyways, now my blogs going to be legit, but in the meantime, I better go study for my ancient egyptian religion final!

Anyways, i leave you this video of a manatee that always makes me laugh!

Yay!! I love the blog name and I'm really excited to follow your oceany adventures.

Also the Moorea tattoo guy sounds so cool, I can't wait to see what you end up with! Hopefully it's not a collage of vampires, babies and seahorses. Although just a seahorse would be ok. Also getting it somewhere on your back might be nice, it would just take a t-shirt to cover that sucker up.
